Review: Feels surprisingly robust for what is essentially a pretty cheap pocket tape measure. (I have the 3m version). Very impressed for the price. There are 2 important pieces of information worth passing on. 1) The blade is self supporting for just over 1m which is pretty good for a small tape measure like this. You can extend it out just under 1.1m before it reaches the point where it will not support its own weight. 2) Yes, the tip does move but ignore the bad review that claims this means it adds 2mm to every measurement. It is actually a sign of a well made tape measure. For those who don't know... The end of the tape measure is intended to move backwards and forwards about 2mm because the end is about 2mm thick. If you measure into a corner, the pressure pushes the end back so you get an accurate measure from the front face of it. If you hook it over an edge, the pressure pulls the end forward so you get an accurate measure from the back face of it. The reason the end moves is so you don't have to mentally adjust the reading. The truth is the exact opposite of what is says in the review that only gives 2 stars because the end moves. (I felt I had to set the record straight as several people have marked that review as helpful and unfortunately it is just wrong).

Review: For the price you get what you pay for. It’s cheap so it’s cheaply made and for a Stanley product it’s really poor quality. I’ve gone through 2 of these now and each has the same issue. When you reach the stop, when fully extended, I attempt to lift it slightly so it auto coils but the inside design is flimsy and it immediately comes off the lip and then it’s practically impossible to rewind it inside when opening and attempting to do it. It’s a throwaway tape measure so can’t recommend it. Better to pay a lot more for a quality brand and that will last way longer than these ones.
