Review: I'm sure that these leadholder pencils are aimed at artists but for me it's a sturdy, handy, portable jotter for everyday work and for carrying in a pocket. The pencil feels robust and while 2mm is a large point for writing, the on-board sharpener in the back button tapers the lead to a usable point for this purpose. I might trade up to a B lead for blackness, which again is possible with this system as all grades of lead are available. I have medium sized hands and the length isn't too short (about the same as a pencil that has been sharpened 1/3rd down) and the pencil is comfortable to write with. I'm happy enough to have ordered a red and black one and a set of coloured leads to use to highlight.

Review: Some may prefer a thin, lightweight pencil/lead-holder but I find it unpleasant to use. 1. I only have 'medium' size hands but I found it too thin. At 7.2mm across the flats, it is only slightly thicker than most wooden pencils. 2. It is too short for long-term use because the clip is always in the way when you rotate the pencil in your hand to even-out the lead wear. That quickly gets irritating. 3. Its lightness makes it feel flimsy. It is probably robust enough but it doesn't have the nice heft of any of my preferred writing implements (my favourite pencil is a 0.7mm LAMY 2000 which isn't exactly heavy). 4. It was a mistake for me to buy a 'clutch pencil'/'lead-holder' instead of a 'propelling pencil' which advances the lead when you click it. I am so used to 'propelling pencils' that I keep inadvertently dropping the lead completely out of this 'lead-holder' when not concentrating on THIS PARTICULAR tool. I prefer to act instinctively and not have to constantly compensate for this different functionality. It is distracting. 5. The finish is perfect and it functions perfectly as a 'lead-holder' but I have found that is not what I want. I do accept responsibility for buying the wrong 'tool' and hopefully one of my grandchildren will like it instead of me because - I will never use it again.
