Description: Italeri 1/35 M7 Priest Howitzer Motor Carriage FEATURES: New gluable rubber tracks Decals for 4 versions Colour instructions Contains 1 figure The use of self-propelled artillery during the Second World War spread very rapidly. After the innovations introduced by the German Wehrmacht at the beginning of the conflict, the need for artillery pieces capable of having the same mobility as armored columns was manifested by all armies. The solution used by the Allies, after the first solutions made on the half-tracks, materialized with the M7 Priest. Developed on the hull of the M3 Lee medium tank it was armed with a 105mm M2A1 howitzer. It was used for the first time in combat in 1942 by British troops who gave it the nickname 'Priest" (Priest) for the characteristic position of the machine gun in the front of the vehicle resembling a pulpit. Robust and reliable, it had a good supply of ammunition and guaranteed effective indirect support fire. It was used by the US Army and Marines on all fronts and throughout the course of the war. Please note: glue and paint are required to complete this model. These are available separately.     Description: Italeri 1/35 Scale Schnellboot S-26/S-38 Model Kit Between the two wars several Navies undertook development programs to implement flotillas of motor torpedo boats capable of carrying out patrol and attack missions. The new engine technologies, compared to First World War versions, provided greater performance and operational efficiency. During the 1930s the German Kriegsmarine developed the famous S-class motor torpedo boats. Between 1939 and 1940 the S-26 series was built and characterised by a forecastle integrated with two 533 mm torpedo tubes. The aesthetic features of the bow were maintained and further improved in subsequent versions. The S38 was one of the most celebrated Schnellboot versions, with almost 100 units produced. They were 35 meters long with a full load displacement of over 100 tons. With its Daimler Benz 12-cylinder engines it was able to reach a maximum speed of 39.5 knots.     Description: 1/16 Scale Guns Of History Mountain Howitzer 12 Pounder Model Kit The mountain howitzer was a short-barreled, large-caliber gun. Because it looked like a shortened, downsized cannon, it became known and the 'bull pup" during the Civil War. Although its 4.62" bore could handle the same 12-pounder ammunition as a regular 12-pounder gun, a mountain howitzer weighed less than the barrel alone of a larger 12-pounder field gun. It could be quickly disassembled and carried by three pack mules through forests, across swampy ground, or over rough mountain terrain. The mountain howitzer was not classified as field artillery because of its light weight and short range, but it was well suited for fast-moving cavalry raiders. The ease by which it could be positioned for action by a few foot soldiers made it ideal for close-in fire support during infantry engagements. Fitting the howitzer to a scaled down field (prairie) carriage improved the gun's stability without sacrificing much of its maneuverability. After the Civil War, CSA General Basil Duke said, No gun is so well suited in all respects to the wants of cavalry, as these little guns.
