Description: Occre Stephensons Rocket Liverpool & Manchester Railway 1:24 Scale wood & metal Model Kit Oc Cre Models have created a beautiful 1/24th scale representation of Stephensons Rocket, the most famous locomotive of them all. Build the Oc Cre Rocket from pre-cut wooden parts and accessories to create a model that will be the focus of attention wherever displayed. Dimensions : Length: 290mm Height: 180mm Width: 65mm G-45 45mm Gauge 1:24 Scale In 1829 the Liverpool and Manchester Railway held the Rainhill Trials to find the best locomotive for their line. The winner, from a field of five entries, was George Stephenson and his Rocket. Stephensons Rocket, which only weighed 4.2 tons, had a multi-tubular boiler, almost 6 ft long with a diameter of 3 ft 4 in, that was of great efficiency in terms of heat transfer. The pistons, in the cylinders, which were set at an inclined position, were coupled up to 4 ft 8 in diameter drive wheels, and she was capable of reaching speeds of up to 25 mph. Because of her characteristics, the Rocket was the first useful and practical locomotive in terms of transporting passengers and goods, launching a new age in the history of transport. Starter Paint Pack Includes: 5 x 17ml Vallejo model paints. Vallejo paints are supplied in plastic bottles of 17ml with an eyedropper device which keeps paint from drying and prevents spills. The model color range has been specifically developed for adherence on difficult surfaces such as metal and plastic, but the product is not toxic, not flammable, and does not give off noxious fumes. Please note: The paint packs offered are only our suggestion from the box art and will not match directly with the instructions found within the kit. Please note the display base is not included in the Oc Cre Rocket kit but is available separately.
