Review: Staedtler is a well-respected name for office equipment in general, and drawing products in particular -and these colouring pencils continue the high standard. No-one should be left wanting as there are 36 different colours from white to black in all sorts of shades. The pencils are 6½ inches long with traditional hexagonal cross-section, and come in a slim well-made tin box with grooved insert from which they are easy to remove and replace. What lifts these pencils above the norm is that the leads are coated with some material (visible as a white ring around the point of the lead) that the manufacturer claims will ease sharpening and avoid breaking. This claim is valid - and furthermore, the leads are accurately positioned at the axis of the pencils and there is no lob-sided sharpening.

Review: Nothing wrong with the pencils but people and the company should be aware of how dangerous this metal packaging can be to young children and pets around the house. I have attached photos of metal shards that broke off the joints as the tin material wears off over time. They can be fatal if ingested especially as they fall off onto table or floor and get picked up by toddlers or babies. I was shocked when my daughter came to me to show me the metal shard. Thankfully she is 4.5 and is somewhat aware what can cause danger to her 1 year old sister.
