Review: I've been using Sennelier soft pastels for a couple years now. They are always high quality and the perfect consistency, very soft and creamy without being too heavy and never chalky. They are highly pigmented while layering and blending easily. This box set of 100 is a very convenient size which allows me to have the complete set out without taking up too much room. I was expecting the multi-purpose set but recieved the "Landscape" set. Not sure of the difference but there's enough variation for a wide variety of subject matter. I would highly recommend this brand for anyone that uses soft pastels, from beginner on up.

Review: The sticks are buttery, and the colors are vibrant, but I have two gripes - one minor and one major. The minor one is that the sticks are so tightly gripped by the surrounding foam that they're stored in that it's almost impossible to fish out a stick without breaking it. The major one is that this is supposed to be a landscape set, and there is not one purple or violet in the set. If you've worked with pastels, you know what a pain it is to mix colors on the paper, and this is a serious oversight on Sennelier's part. Update: One more gripe. I'll never buy pastels that are wrapped in labels again. If you want to make broad strokes, you need the side of the pastel. No matter how delicately I tried to remove the wrappers, these things crumbled into tiny pieces.
