Review: Swann Morton scalpel handles have two grooves to locate the blade. The handle purchased had a single slit ( no doubt to reduce manufacturing costs.) It was extremely difficult, and dangerous, to insert a blade, the slit being too narrow so that considerable force had to be applied. Someone with little or no experience with scalpels could sustain a serious injury inserting a No 11 blade. The first time I used the handle pressure on the blade tip caused the blade to slip out of the slit in the handle rendering it useless. As well as being useless this handle is dangerous and should be withdrawn from sale.
